What kinds of items can you print on?We can print on just about everything except for bodies. Digital printing gives us the ability to print on almost any type of fibrous material - within reason, obviously. Keep in mind that material matters! Check out our fabric guide section for more resources on how to choose the right material for your order.
-
Is there a limit on how many colors I can have in my print?Unlike screen printing, the sky's the limit with us. One of our favorite things about digital printing is that there are no limits on how many colors you can have in your print. Because we're limitless here at First & Wilkerson, we can print anything from single color prints (if that's your thing) to high resolution photos. Have you been dreaming of getting a bag with your dog's face on it? Yeah, we can do that.
-
Can I bring my own items? No. Unfortunately, bringing in your own item can introduce a lot of unknowns into our process, especially when it comes to materials and any residues that may be invisibly lingering in that material.
-
Will the prints wash out over time? The ink that we use to print your items is baked into the fiber of the cloth so you won't see flaking or disintegration of the print like you may with other processes (such as screen printing). Keep in mind that all of our inks are water-based, which means they may fade slightly over the garment's lifetime, but the quality of the print will not be compromised.
-
How should I wash my garments? Before wearing, your garment should be washed. When you wash your new DTG item, it should be turned inside out and washed in cool water. Tumble dry on low heat or let air dry. Avoid using high heat to prevent fading or shrinking of the garment.
-
Can I dry clean my printed apparel?Because all of our ink is water-based, you should not dry clean your garments. The dry cleaning chemicals can damage the prints and cause fading or elimination of the print altogether. To treat stains, test stain removers in an inconspicuous spot to make sure it does not affect the print or the color of the garment.

Do I have to bring my own artwork? Or can you make something for me?Yes and yes! It's up to you. Some people come in and have their artwork ready to print. That's fabulous! But we can also design something in-house for you if you're starting with a blank slate. Logo design? Check! Inspiration recreation? Check! We can do it all. Sound too good to be true? Nah, come on in and let's chat.
-
If I bring my own artwork, what are the requirements?"Because we have the ability to print up to 1200 DPI, it's incredibly important that you provide high-quality artwork for us. So what are the requirements? - PNG or EPS file format preferred - Minimum 300 DPI resolution - CMYK format - Make anything you don't want printed transparent. We can remove backgrounds for an artwork fee A proof of your artwork will be emailed for your approval. Please review the proof and respond within 24 hours. Failure to approve proof in a timely manner may result in delays in the fabrication process. Please take a good, hard look at these proofs becase we are not responsible for any errors in artwork that you provide to us. So, if you used a potato camera to take that snazzy picture of your dog, please don't expect us to make it magically high-resolution with Photoshop. Unfortunately, even Photoshop has its limits...

How long will my order take? Our typical turnaround time for small orders (less than 100 items) is around 7 - 10 days. This can fluctuate based on how many requests we have at the time and our suppliers' lead times. Please ask us when you place your order and we can confirm when you can expect your items to be ready for pickup. If you need your items quickly, just let us know and we are usually able to expedite the process* *may be subjected to additional charges
-
What is your return / exchange policy?Due to the unique, handmade nature of our garments, all sales are final. If an item is damaged, please stop by our retail location in Fort Wayne. You can also e-mail or call us to get in touch.
-
What apparel brands do you work with?Uh, a whole bunch. We use a variety of styles and brands such as Gildan, Bella & Canvas, American Apparel, Next Level, and Alternative Apparel. If you're looking for a certain brand or style, just ask! We work with several different suppliers so we'll more than likely be able to get what you're looking for.
-
What forms of payment do you accept? In addition to cash, we accept all major credit card via Square.
-
Is there a minimum order requirement?Aw, heck naw. Again, unlike screen printing, our entire process is on-demand. That means we can print one or we can print a bazillion. It's up to you!
